Octavo, rust cloth, decorated in blind, gilt-lettered spine; slight trace of a bookplate removed from the front pastedown. First edition with Blackwood's 16-page catalogue at the end; without the two leaves of Alexander Carlyle ads at the rear, which appear in only some copies; Carter's "binding A," with the more elaborate gilt design on the spine.
