Contents of books are very clean with all the folding maps, which are also very clean with no tears. The covers are worn top and tail of spine and the appendix volume has a two inch tear at the top of the back cover spine joint. Otherwise they are good solid bindings which are spoilt by library numbers painted at the foot of the spine. The books were once the property of the library of Mansfield College, Oxford, and apart from the numbers, the evidence of once having lived in the library are negligible, consisting of a Mansfield College bookplate on each front pasted down end paper and a very small stamp on the verso of the front free end paper simply stating 'cancelled'. Volume I: East London 1889 Second Edition, with a coloured folding map on canvas and four other page maps. Volume II: London Continued. First Edition 1891, with a coloured folding map on canvas. The third volume is an Appendix to Volume II, First Edition 1891, and contains 5 coloured folding maps on canvas. Extremely scarce.
