London: Heinemann, 1951. A first edition, first printing published by Heinemann in 1951. A near fine book without inscriptions. Internally very clean indeed - some light spotting to the top edge. In a very good unclipped wrapper marred only by some rubbing to the spine tips and browning to the spine which is lightly spotting. Complete with the rare wrap-around band advertising the book as the Daily Mail book of the month award. A very nice copy indeed.

In a sense, 'The End of the Affair' is a theological work thinly disguised as a morose love story. It's a deeply moving narrative that delves into the complexities of human emotion set against the backdrop of World War II. Greene's prose is intricate and the story is a reflection on faith, love, and the painful search for meaning in a seemingly indifferent world.
