London: Heinemann, 1956. A first edition, first printing of 'The Hundred and One Dalmatians' by Dodie Smith published by Heinemann in 1956. A very good book without inscriptions - some spotting to the spine - scattered foxing to the prelims. In a very good (or better) unclipped and overlay priced wrapper which is incredibly bright and not heavily browned on the spine. Small stain to the spine. Some rubbing to the corners. SIGNED to an official bookplate by Smith (a little smudged) to the half-title page. Complete with the later wrap-around band noting 'The Book of Walt Disney's Film' - a lovely piece of ephemera and the first time we have seen this. A lovely copy. A classic children's novel by Dodie Smith, later adapted into a highly successful animated film by Disney.
