First American edition, first printing. Bound in publisher's original olive green cloth with panels ruled in blind and spine lettered in gilt. Near Fine with light wear to cloth, slight toning to spine and slight fading to gilt, two tiny pin-holes to front joint. Some foxing primarily to preliminary and terminal sheets, production error to rear endsheet and final leaves presenting as a closed tear originating at the gutter; many leaves still uncut. A lovely copy.
