Publisher's original and unrestored decorated cloth, all edges gilt, 9 illustrated plates with the frontispiece tissue guard; pp. [ix], x-xiv, 83, [2] + [1 ads]. In very good condition. Binding sturdy, light general shelfwear to boards with traces of faint soiling to extremities and a few closed tears along spine joints. Faint owner's inscriptions to front endpaper, else internally clean. A nice copy, protected in a removable archival jacket.

The Hunting of the Snark (An Agony in Eight Fits) is a poem written by English writer Lewis Carroll. It is a nonsensical poem that follows a crew of characters setting out to hunt a Snark, a creature which may turn out to be a highly dangerous Boojum. The poem explores themes of quest and the absurdity accompanying it, written typically in Carroll's whimsical style.
