An incredibly rare excellent condition American book for the medical historian or new physician or Medical Archive Collection. An American medical publication without peer for the era. Interior is in superior condition. It was published just before the American Civil War and was available during that conflict, being of timely importance to have an impact on medical military field care of the grievously wounded brave soldiers in both armies, needing the best available care after battles.
Great changes in medical care were aided by this book's availability at the time. An exceedingly important and scarce surviving memento of American history. Please contact for questions or images. The book was acquired from the estate of an American US Navy Submarine Service physician - collector of historical medical texts. [Special volumes shelf - B86].
