Frontispieces and 18 wood-engraved plates (11 plates in volume 1 and 9 in volume 2). Bookseller’s ticket of Miliken Booksellers, Dublin to front pastedown, inscription of “Thomas Harris” to vol. I front free endpaper. A Near Fine set overall. Cloth a bit faded at the spines and minor repairs to the inner hinges. Cloth and contents generally clean and fresh with only minor foxing to the plates and adjacent leaves. A few plates with faint dampstains at the lower margins. Tissue guard at the frontis in vol 1, lacking in vol. 2. With an autographed slip by Dumas laid in. Housed in a custom clamshell case with the boards made to look like prison-cell walls.
