Description

Cloth-backed batik boards. Account of an eighteenth century New Englander reprinted from the Albany edition of 1811, this edition with a preface by Robert Frost, his second prose appearance in a book (Crane D2). Howes B1022: "Picaresque adventures, perhaps somewhat exaggerated, of a New England rogue." This copy is SIGNED by the poet on the front endpaper with his initials and with an interesting comment on Burroughs: "Stephen Burroughs is said to have been/related to John Burroughs/R.F./May 1943." An uncommon book, scarce when signed. Very Good or better, lacking the scarce dustwrapper.
