The information I found on the internet is as follows: (Name Colin Richard Theodore Zarifi, Birth 24 Feb 1917 Baptism23 May 1919, St Sophia, Moscow Road, Bayswater, London, England, Note 1Greek Gazette describes him as the son of Alexandra Th. Zarifi (1866-1932). However, he was the son (almost certainly illegimate) of Fanny Zarifi (b. 1891) and adopted by his grandmother Alexandra whose will names him as Colin Richard Theodore Zarifi. God-parentsAlexandra Zarifi. Note 2 Presumably the Colin Zarifi who at one time lived at Coledane, Kent, who served on General Committee of the Kennel Club in 1947, was a renowned expert on several breeds of dogs, who had interests in South Africa, and lived for some time in Monte Carlo. Father--- [Zarifi] MotherFanny (Theodore) Zarifi (1891-)) The designer of the bookplate is "Acheson Bachelor F." whose name appears in small lettering just below the engraved bookplate. Accompanying the book is a loose publishers one-sided advertisement for the 1929 Christopher Robin Calendar and "When We Very Young" Notepaper. There are miniature illustrations of both on the advertisement. Nice period ephemera with book. Please see my other "POOH" related books.
