PRESENTATION COPY. 1 vol., later edition, illustrated by Marcus Stone, inscribed by Swinburne on the half-title "Walker Theodore Watts Dunton/ from/ Algernon Charles Swinburne". Bound in the publisher's original gilt stamped pebble grained maroon cloth, spine expertly relined, head and foot of spine rubbed with some slight loss, housed in a cloth slipcase, gilt lettered maroon morocco spine label. A fine association on an appropriate title. Watts is often remembered as the friend and minder of Algernon Charles Swinburne, whom he rescued from alcoholism.
