Description

A Very Good+ copy of the book with the rear board a bit warped and a slight stain affecting the closed text-block (possibly from the top-stain). Book is otherwise unmarked and appears unread. Jacket is Near Fine with only minimal wear to the spine ends and a short tear to the lower rear panel. "In this 1962 novel, Kerouac's alter ego Jack Duluoz, overwhelmed by success and excess, gravitates back and forth between wild binges in San Francisco and an isolated cabin on the California coast where he attempts to renew his spirit and clear his head of madness and alcohol. Only nature seems to restore in him a sense of balance" (Saroyan). Very Good + in Near Fine dust jacket.

About Big Sur

In 'Big Sur', Jack Kerouac, under the pseudonym Jack Duluoz, details his struggle with fame after the success of 'On the Road', his descent into alcoholism, and his quest for solace in nature. Set against the backdrop of California's coastline, the narrative flows with Kerouac's stream of consciousness and reflects his internal turmoil and quest for redemption.
