Quickly topping the bestseller lists after it's release, the book bolstered the reputation of the then-Illinois senator, who declared his ultimately-successful candidacy for the presidency only a few months after publication. A wonderful collector's copy. Fine in a just about fine dust jacket. Internally fine, content clean and bright. Fine in publisher's black boards, gold titles stamped to spine, light brown endpapers.
