This book is the one he used in his library at his home Brantwood in Coniston Water, in the English Lake District, from 1872 until his death in 1900. John Ruskin was an artist, critic and social reformer. He was hugely influential in the latter half of the 19th century and his influence reached across the world, inspiring everyone from Charlotte Bronte to Mahatma Gandhi.
