THE THIN MAN, Knopf, 1934, first edition, the usual fading to the green cloth (although not too bad this time), else a tight vg+ copy in just about vg unsophisticated dust-wrapper (the red variety with mention of a bookclub) with some light wear and tear, a small chip missing from the base of the dust-wrapper spine and some dust-soiling to the rear dust-wrapper panel. The source novel for the first film with Nick & Nora Charles and the inspiration for the rest.

The Thin Man is a detective novel by Dashiell Hammett, originally published in the December 1933 issue of Redbook. It is the last novel Hammett completed and features the characters Nick and Nora Charles, who would later become widely recognized through the series of films made from the book.
