Description

8vo. 19cm x 13.5cm. Publisher's black cloth. Dustjacket. Titled in silver to spine and front board, clean and strong, in a very handsome dustjacket with some traces of professional restoration to the head of the spine and upper front corners, nothing major, but nevertheless some sophistication. A very good copy of a scarce book, shows very well indeed. 317pp. Internally clean. An attractive copy of the book that gave us "Cabaret", a detailed knowledge of the seamy side of life in Berlin in 1930, and an unfortunate desire to wear belted overcoats and smoke ruinously strong cigarettes. Scarce.

About Sally Bowles

Sally Bowles is a novella by Christopher Isherwood, originally published in 1937 as part of the novel 'Goodbye to Berlin,' which is part of The Berlin Stories collection. The character of Sally Bowles, a young English singer in Berlin's Weimar Republic, became iconic, especially after the novella's adaptation into the musical 'Cabaret.'
