Bound by master bookbinder Bernard Kiernan in full olive morocco with green & black leather inlay & gilt decoration, spine decorated and lettered in gilt, raised bands, top edge gilt, others untrimmed, signed on the rear turn-in. Spine a touch sunned and start of slight foxing, tiny stain to prelims, else Fine. Housed in light green cloth slipcase, slightly soiled and stained. The classic fishing book handsomely bound by Kiernan (1922-1967). He died at age 45, very well-esteemed in the trade but obscure; his bindings are very rare. The text taken from the fifth edition, the last edition with Walton's own revisions.
