A really lovely example of one of the key books of the 20th century. A frightening and entirely plausible post-apocalyptic story. A classic. The basis for the 1963 British science fiction horror film of the same name in CinemaScope and Eastmancolor, produced by George Pitcher and Philip Yordan, and directed by Steve Sekely and Freddie Francis and starring Howard Keel and Nicole Maurey, Photographs/scans available upon request.
