Description

0ctavo. A fine copy in a fine dust jacket (not price-clipped) and signed by Cormac McCarthy on the limitation page. The reason signed copies of his books are uncommon is he was a very private person and did not want to do public book signings. His very first five books are rarely signed. His first wife hated the poverty of eating beans night after night for dinner while he turned down multi-thousand offers to speak at universities. He hated his two public appearances but the one at the Oscars for No Country For Old Men (where he actually appeared on the stage with the Coen Brothers) and the other with Oprah for his book The Road. Bound in black cloth over black paper covered boards stamped CM in gilt, spine lettering gilt, top edge red.

About Cities of the Plain

Cities of the Plain is the third novel in American author Cormac McCarthy’s 'Border Trilogy'. The novel was published in 1998, and it continues following the story of John Grady Cole, a young Texas cowboy, and Billy Parham, an older American cowboy, as their paths intertwine on a ranch near the U.S.-Mexico border.
