London: Secker & Warburg, 1945.. First edition. 91, (1) pp. 8vo. Publisher's green cloth, white lettered to the spine, a recent owner's inscription with his address to the front pastedown, dust jacket with the blue "Searchlight Books" railway locomotive illustration on the verso, not price clipped. Some general edge wear to the jacket with a long split along the join of the spine and the rear panel though the two sections remain attached at the foot, tanning to the white rear panel, the cloth browned where it has been exposed at the spine tips.

About Animal Farm

Animal Farm is an allegorical novella by George Orwell, first published in England on 17 August 1945. The book tells the story of a group of farm animals who revolt against their human farmer, hoping to create a society where animals can be equal, free, and just. However, the revolution is hijacked by the pigs, who become just as oppressive as the humans. Animal Farm is an allegory for the Russian Revolution and the subsequent Soviet Union.
