Description

First U.S. edition. One of his best-known novels. Winner of the 1924 James Tait Black Memorial Prize for fiction, selected as one of the 100 great works of English literature by the Modern Library, and included on Time Magazine's "100 Best English-language Novels from 1923 to 2005." Very good with light, vertical crease to front board affecting front endpaper, foxing to page edges encroaching on margins throughout, and foxing to first few leaves (most noticeably on dedication page); in gently toned dust jacket with internal archival tape repair to few minor tears, tiny chip to base of front flap fold, and lower corner torn from front flap affecting a few words in Spectator blurb and publisher's name -- which is too bad because otherwise the jacket is very nearly fine. Scarce in dust jacket.
