Quarter vellum-like paper spine over marbled paper boards with a Prussian blue spine label lettered in gilt. Top edge gilt. Silk marker ribbon. Tiny loss to one corner of the spine label. Very slight foxing to fore edge and end papers. Neat ink ownership ('Lili Schosslaender'), dated 1913, on fly. Near fine. A very early printing of one of the greatest short novels of the Twentieth century. Not published in English until 1924 and not in book form until 1925.
