Presentation copy to the editor's son, ink inscription on front blank ("To master George Hunter from his affectionate father, A Hunter"), (lvi) 649 [11]pp, lacks frontispiece, 40 plates (the plates at pp 266 and 267 are almost identical in all details to those called for but clearly come from a different work), folding table, contemporary calf (rather worn and scuffed, corners bumped, boards showing at edges and corners), modern reback in lighter calf (raised bands, new red morocco label), offsetting (quite heavy from the plates), a few pages and most plates toned, marginal tear to M4, some foxing (including the dedication, first 3 leaves 'To the Reader' and signature Mm), 4 ink annotations on the folding table, repairs to the inner margin of the last two leaves, modern woodcut bookplate by Andy English on front pastedown, 4to (30x23.5cm), Henrey 137 ESTC T123233, may cost more to ship than quoted by ABE.
