Contemporary full mottled calf, spines gilt, in later very professional slip-cases, two are a little bit tight. Spines worn, joints weak, corner to one leaf in vol. 5 torn, occasional foxing but overall still a very good and clean set. Half titles are present in vol. 2-6.

Published in six volumes between 1776 and 1788, this extensive work by Edward Gibbon provides a detailed history of the decline of the Roman Empire.
