The first UK printing. Book is very good +. A little rubbed at the corners, spine slightly faded. Previous owners inscription to half title page "Josephine Whitehouse, October 1955". Signed by author on dedication page beneath "For Charlotte and Victoria", (and darling Jo, with love from Mary) Oct 1955. Josephine Whitehouse worked for the BBC and was involved in Children's programming. In a very good first edition dust-jacket which is possibly not original to the book. A few nicks to extremities but virtually no loss. An excellent unclipped example. Internally the book is clean, tight & square. Very scare signed edition.
