Dr Stephen Landan was a science fiction fan who joined the World Science Fiction Society and is recorded as attending the Millennium Philcon in 2001.
Simak's influential work won the 1953 International Fantasy Award. The famous science fiction illustrator Kelly Freas won multiple Locus and Hugo awards, among many other accolades. He was inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame in 2006.
