Four banded spine with gilt title on red panel. Embossed pattern to front and back cover with some rubbing and wear in patches.Minor wear to all edges and spine, corners bumped. A few pages have small sections missing ( frontispiece of Milton, page 2 illustration, page 37 / 38 small amount of text missing, pages 193/194 small corner missing, picture between pages 308/309 some plain edge missing, page 309 small amount of text missing). Very minor foxing at start of book. Some age discolouration throughout. Back loose end paper contains in notes ( addition sums). Binding still strong. Rare. Seller Inventory #002563.

Paradise Lost is an epic poem in blank verse by the 17th-century English poet John Milton. The first version, published in 1667, consisted of ten books with over ten thousand lines of verse.
