Endpapers foxed; tiny bump to top front edge (minor); else an unmarked near fine copy in unclipped ('$2.75'), mylar-protected dustjacket with some edgewear & short closed tears plus a bit of loss and a small triangular chip top edge back panel - which is also somewhat soiled (but front panel and spine are clean). First printing/issue of the American edition ('follow the flag'), preceded by the British. Bowles' first novel, his best-known and, many would say, his best book. Jacket design by Lustig. Basis of the 1990 Bertolucci movie. First printing = 3500 copies. Despite dj wear quite an attractive copy of this 20th Century classic novel. Photos available on request.
