Age-toned white endpapers. All edges plain. Bound in blue decorative cloth stamped in gilt and black. No signs of previous ownership. This copy meets the specifications for the second printing, issue A: 10 and 14 point type used to print the fly title, fly title and frontis printed on the same leaf, contents pages mispaginated, four pages of publisher's advertisements dated revised December 1st, 1876. Foot of spine panel moderately worn, else a sound copy in very good condition. The donor of this book purchased it a number of years ago from Twain expert and bookseller Kevin Mac Donnell. The latter's typed notes about the book are loosely laid-in. BAL 3369.
