First edition, first issue with two pages of adverts. Original dark red pictorial cloth with gilt lettering on the spine and illustrations in blue-grey, yellow and black to spine and upper cover. A very good copy indeed with minor fraying to the outside edge of the frontispiece and slight wear to the spine ends and corners. Eight black and white illustrations by T. M. R. Whitwell.
