Octavo, 2 volumes, bound in three quarters calf over marbled boards with gilt titles to the spine, marbled endpapers, marbled edges. From the library of Ulysses S. Grant with a presentation bookplate to the pastedown of both volumes which reads, "Lieut. Gen. U. S. Grant, from the Citizens of Boston, January 1, 1866." In very good condition. Rare and desirable. Ulysses S. Grant was the 18th President of the United States (1869–77).
