Charming, original illustration throughout this first edition by Joseph Schindelman. Includes the infamous Oompa-Loompa illustrations (excised in later editions). Set into volume is First Day Cover beautifully signed by Roald Dahl for the "The Year of the Child" in 1979: "Roald Dahl." First Day of Issue envelope features four charmingly illustrated postal stamps with silver silhouettes of the Queen and color designs of: "The Tale of Peter Rabbit; The Wind in the Willows; Winnie-the-Pooh; and, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland."
