J.R.R.TOLKIEN, The Adventures of Tom Bombadil, SIGNED by Pauline Baynes, the illustrator of this book, and the only illustrator Tolkien would use after she first illustrated Farmer Giles of Ham in 1949. Pauline Baynes was also the only illustrator C.S. Lewis would use for The Chronicles of Narnia, having seen the work she had produced for J.R.R.Tolkien. This copy is a seventh impression of the 1st edition, 1973, most likely signed the year Tolkien passed away. The book is very clean and bright throughout, the dust jacket is price clipped. The signature of Pauline Baynes on the Title Page is the only marking in the book. Books signed by Pauline Baynes are scarce. An excellent copy.
