First edition hardcover with dust jacket, published by G.P. Putnam, 1963. The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped, original price of $3.95 printed on the top corner of the front flap. Dust jacket has just some minor edge creases to the head and heel of the spine, and a spot of edge wear at the top right corner at the back. Black cloth covered boards with the title and author name imprinted in teal green on the spine and cover - all lettering is crisp and not rubbed. The boards are flat and the corners are not bumped. Very small dot of edge wear to the heel of the spine, but overall there is not much wear to the boards. Green topstain does not appear to be faded. 6" X 8-3/4", 288 pages, rough fore edge to the text pages. No writing on the text pages. This is not a former library book. There is a crack at the spine gutter at the front pastedown, top to bottom, causing a slight looseness, but the sewn binding is still entirely intact and all pages are tightly bound. Former owner's name typed on a small label and pasted to front paste-down - about 1-3/4" long and 1/4 tall. Nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Novel in 1964. Classic jacket illustration by Irv Doktor. Attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory.
