First Edition. Cloth mottled as almost always; very good or a little better in a dust jacket that had obviously been folded and probably tipped into another copy. There are lengthwise creases in the front panel, spine, and back panel, else only very minor wear. On the other hand, this folding left the spine very nearly unfaded, which is very unusual. There are four variants, for which any priority is undetermined; this example is in green without blurbs. All books described as first editions are first printings unless otherwise noted.

The Thin Man is a detective novel by Dashiell Hammett, originally published in the December 1933 issue of Redbook. It is the last novel Hammett completed and features the characters Nick and Nora Charles, who would later become widely recognized through the series of films made from the book.
