Octavo, bound by Zaehnsdorf in full brown crushed morocco (hardcover, leather), French gilt fillets, panelled dentelles, silk endpapers, all edges gilt, xlviii, 9-368 pp. Half title, frontis portrait. At one time, trhis was considered to be the first issue of the Edinburgh edition with "Boxburgh," on page xxxvii, and "stinking" instead of "skinking," on page 263.
