First edition, first print, Bloomsbury. Signed by the author in black pen to a Bloomsbury Children's Books bookplate on the front pastedown endpaper. The book is in near fine condition, with sharp boards (very small bump to top edge) and still sharp corners. Spine foot is pushed, top of spine remains very firm. Boards are clean and fresh. The textblock is clean and fresh, bar light shelf-wear to the bottom corner. Internally very fresh and spotless. Very small corner crease to bottom corner of rear free endpaper. The book has a very slight lean. The jacket is not price-clipped and is not sunned at the spine. No tears to the jacket; light crease to inflap.
