Elephant folio [47 cm] Green moire cloth with gilt front cover and spine. All edges gilt. Complete, with 39 full-page plates with tissue guards, engraved title page vignette and engraved vignette headpiece at beginning of text. There are splits in the cloth along the base of the joints. The longer split measures 5". The text block is pulling away from the spine. May require postage due to size and weight. This is a wonderful visual realization of Coleridge's poem, by the preeminent French Victorian engraver, Gustave Doré. One of Doré's most compelling and dramatic works.
