The inscription is to Robert Cleveland-Stevens.  Possibly Captain Bobby Cleveland-Stevens of the Welsh Guards. Webb illustrated the first two Swallows and Amazons books. With the original exceptionally scarce unclipped dustwrapper in a fantastic condition. The dustwrapper has been subject to some professional repairs, that are imperceptible externally. This story follows the Walker siblings and Blackett sisters camping in the hills and moorland around a lake.
