Signed by the illustrator of this work, Clifford Webb. With the exceedingly scarce dustwrapper. Signed by the illustrator to the recto of front endpaper 'To Robbie from Clifford Webb Nov 1931'. The inscription is to Robert Cleveland-Stevens.  Possibly Captain Bobby Cleveland-Stevens of the Welsh Guards. Webb illustrated the first two Swallows and Amazons books. With the original exceptionally scarce unclipped dustwrapper in a fantastic condition. The dustwrapper has been subject to some professional repairs, that are imperceptible externally. This story follows the Walker siblings and Blackett sisters camping in the hills and moorland around a lake.
