Rare uncorrected proof copy of Plath's first published collection of poetry, Heinemann, 1960. The Colossus was the only collection of poetry published during the poet's brief 30-year life. The front wrapper bears the publication date and prospective price in biro. Original wrappers, not restored. A few marks and stains to the wrappers and rubbing to the edges. Tape residue to the front cover, where a label has been removed. Short splits to the top and bottom of the front wrapper hinge. Biro squiggle to rear cover. Internally clean. A good copy. Protected in a plastic sleeve and a black custom-made box. More photos can be provided.
