Original green cloth covers, blind stamped design to front and back, gilt lettering and decoration to spine faded, spine ends and corners bumped and rubbed with some chipping and loss, general wear and marks to the covers, bumping to the edges. Light brown endpapers, pastedown has a Norwich and Norfolk Naturalists Society bookplate, the free endpaper has previous owners names in ink, including J H Gurney, who was a politician and amateur ornithologist, who published several articles in The Zoologist, including an article titled "An Account of The Birds of Norfolk". There is another name and gift inscription below this, plus another, W E (or B?) Robinson, to the title page. Pages a little age toned, with occasional small marks, some rare spots. Good condition. xv + 519 pages + 32 pages of Mr Murray's general list of works dated April 1861.
