The work is a 616 A4 page photocopy of Rushdie's original typescript, with the author's multiple manuscript revisions and corrections all reproduced. Signed by author to front end paper: 'With very best wishes to Alistair Rolfe' Some handling marks to the white covers otherwise a Fine tight clean copy which appears to be unread.

The Satanic Verses is Salman Rushdie's fourth novel, first published in 1988 and inspired in part by the life of Muhammad. It was met with significant controversy due to its portrayal of Islamic themes which led Rushdie to face death threats and a fatwa calling for his assassination.
