Description

Very rare Pan X350 1st edition/1st impression copy of "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", a Bond espionage thriller by Ian Fleming. With the Raymond Hawkey "Bloodied Snow" wrapper design. Published in 1964 as an export-market only printing. Titles in blue ink with the photo of the author by Cecil Beaton on the back wrapper. Price printed "60c" in black to the lower left corner of the front wrapper. Gilbert A11a(18.1). In good condition with minor age-related wear on the spine and covers. The lower half of the title page is detached from the binding, though this is hard to see on the photo. On the verso of the title page there is a gap along the binding. Neither impact the appearance of the text block which is clean and square. There is a line along the middle of the spine where the book has been opened, and a faint fold mark about 3 cm long visible on the lower right corner of the front wrapper. No internal marks, sound binding. Pages are age-toned.
