Owner inscription and paste down on the front end paper. On the inside of the covers there are remains of a protective sleeve. Slight forward lean across the binding. Binding is tight. The Sun Also Rises is a novel by the American author Ernest Hemingway. The book's title is taken from Ecclesiastes and alludes to the disillusionment and moral erosion of the post-World War I generation. The novel tells the story of American expatriates living in Paris and their journey to Pamplona to watch the running of the bulls and the bullfights. One of Hemingway's most enduring works, it is notable for its sparse prose style and for introducing the label 'Lost Generation' to describe Hemingway and his contemporaries.

Look for 'A' on the copyright page indicating a first printing and the absence of later printing indications.
