Description

AGATHA CHRISTIE - TEN LITTLE. (published in the U.S. under a more politically correct title "And Then There Were None"), published by Collins, copyright 1939, First Printing First State (says "Copyright 1939" on last line on copyright page with no references to subsequent printing - has the "1939" date at the bottom of the copyright page - the 2nd state (export/colonial edition) has no date (presumably because of WWII shipping delays Collins didn't know when the book would be copyrighted/go on sale in overseas countries like Australia and New Zealand - which is primarily where the edition w/o the date is found), lists to "Murder is Easy" on list of Christie books to left of title page, ad pages for HP Christmas & Appointment with Death at rear of book, redish orange boards with black lettering on spine. Book has just a few creased page corners, no former ownership markings or used book store marks/stamps/stickers inside, clean endpapers - no tape staining or markings, no foxing to pages or endpapers, slight dust soiling/age darkening/foxing to outer page edges, no spine lean, tight white pages with sharp corners, no wear to board edges, hint of wear to couple of board corners & to spine tip corners, slight spine sun fading, hint of dust/handling soiling to boards otherwise no soiling or stains, no wear/loss to black spine lettering. Book also comes with a color fascimile of the UK 1st issue Dust jacket to provide protection from damage and to improve its appearance on a shelf. Overall a VG+ book of a very rare 1930s era UK Agatha Christie printing OF ONE OF HER TOP 3 "KEY" BOOKS. I have a number of other U.K. and U.S. Agatha Christie 1st printing hardcover books up for sale.

About And Then There Were None

One of Agatha Christie's most famous works, 'And Then There Were None' narrates the story of ten strangers invited to a distant island under different pretenses. Methodically, they are killed off according to an old nursery rhyme. With no way to escape and no one else on the island, the survivors quickly realize that the murderer is among them.
