8vo, pp. 171. Original mauve boards, lettered in black and white to front panel and spine. Dustwrapper illustration replicated in black and white to front and rear panels. Illustrated dustwrapper. Corners bumped, some sunning to top of spine, but a very good copy in a dustwrapper missing 2cm at head of spine, sunning to spine and front panel, one or two closed tears at corners and folds, some general edgewear. Dustwrapper design by Alvin Lustig. First edition. Elia Kazan's Broadway production of A Streetcar Named Desire opened in December 1947, and ran for more than two years. It made a star of Marlon Brando, and the film made him a legend.
