Identifying the First Edition of The Giving Tree

You can identify a first edition of 'The Giving Tree' by its publisher. Original first editions were published by Harper & Row, and may not have an ISBN as they were not standard until the 1970s. For a precise identification, one would typically also consider the presence of a dust jacket, price on the jacket, and specific design elements known to be associated with the first edition.
