A fine copy in original box and glassine wrapper. First Edition. The book is in very fine condition and the original glassine wrapper is mostly complete with small chips to bottom of spine with a couple of small splits to two folds, all together a very nice example of the plain glassine wrapper which is usually in shreds. Second title page following verso is a tipped in signature of Maxfield Parrish. Included are two original letters. One from Maxfield Parrish, the other from his father Stephen Parrish. Letters are addressed to Ross Davis. Maxfield letter is about purchasing a house with 70 acres and his father's letter is about not being able to accept an invitation to the Sept. 11, 1915 MUSICAL AMERICA, An event at the "Summer White House" of The President & Mrs. Woodrow Wilson. Songs were sung by a soprano who was a protege of Ross Davis. The soprano was accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Ross Davis, and in attendance were Maxfield Parrish and his wife. Box is in near fine condition and is not missing any pieces. Couple of splits to corner folds of box have been repaired. Small gift inscription appears on front free end paper.
