1st edition thus. Signed by H. Rider Haggard on verso of title page (most unusual to find a signed copy of any edition of King Solomon's Mines). With 32 illustrations by Russell Flint, all checked and present; first book illustrated by Flint. Map torn with sellotape repairs. Free endpapers replaced from like copy; front free endpaper has red stained edges. Pages very slightly yellowed, with some foxing on first and last few pages. Binding tight. Red cloth with impressed gilt lettering and decorations on spine and front board. Cloth a little worn at edges of boards; corners slightly bumped; spine browned with wear; gilt on spine dull. Used - Good. Good SIGNED hardback in red cloth.

King Solomon's Mines is a novel by the English writer H. Rider Haggard, first published in 1885. It is one of the first English adventure novels set in Africa, and is considered to be the genesis of the 'Lost World' literary genre.
