Hardback, sm. 6 x 4 inches. Bound in attractive contemporary red morocco bound by "J. H. Hewitt", rich gilt panelled leaf motif, richly tooled to upper cover, lower cover with panelled corner-pieces, and dotted border In good condition. Some minor rubbing on edges. Text block extremely clean with very light toning. Very minor scratches and rubbing to spine and boards. Three small cut-outs on the rear board (a close up photo has been provided for reference). Shelf wear. Some discolouration to the top page edge gilt. Very minor foxing to page edges. Bookplate attached to the reverse of the f.f.e.p. Pen inscription on preliminary. Bookplate 'Ex Libris Edith Hewitt' 228pp. 42 B&W illustrations by John Tenniel.
